About SiddhaStays

Come as guests,leave as family

A family-run homestay on a quiet Kalimpong ridge — built by hand, run with heart, and open to every traveller (and every dog).

Who We Are

The family on the ridge

We are a small Himalayan family — my parents, the garden, two dogs, and a house my grandfather built with timber from these very slopes.

Kalimpong raised us. We grew up on its foggy mornings, its Saturday haat, its church bells and monastery horns. After years away, we came home and turned the family house into what we always wanted it to be — a place where travellers eat with us, walk with us, and rest properly.

We keep it small on purpose. Three rooms means we know your name by breakfast, remember how you take your tea, and can tell you exactly when to be on the terrace for the peaks.

How We Host

What we believe

01

Cooked, not catered

Everything comes from our kitchen — local greens from the haat, ghee from a neighbour's cows, chutney ground by hand.

02

Light on the mountain

Solar water heating, rainwater storage and zero single-use plastic — the ridge gives to us, so we give back.

03

Local first

Our guides, drivers and trek leaders are all neighbours. Your stay supports the whole hillside, not just our house.

Our Journey

Slowly, room by room

The beginning

One spare room

We opened our first spare room to a pair of cyclists on the Silk Route — they left a thank-you note we still keep on the shelf.

Growing slowly

Built by hand

Room by room, with local carpenters and pine from sustainable lots — every panel and window seat was made on the ridge.

Today
